December is for Dean

Holly
I never thought I’d be homeless and running for my life with two kids in tow.
I find a home at the Mustang Mountain Women’s Shelter only for my past to find me and put us all in danger.
Then, in walks, Dean offering my kids and me a safe place to hide, a cabin in the mountains no one knows about.
I don’t have a choice, but for all I know, I’m trading the devil I know for the one I don’t.
He isn’t supposed to be sweet, caring, and good with my kids.
He isn’t supposed to set my body on fire with a simple touch.
He isn’t supposed to make me forget why I am even here, at least until news reaches us that my past has taken my mom in my place.

A nice quiet Christmas with my parents and brother is all I want after the year Mustang Mountain has had.
I should have known that wasn’t going to happen as soon as Ruby named me the December Mountain Man of the Month.
I didn’t expect the family I’d been hoping for to walk into my life or the secrets that would be chasing them.
I plan on making them mine for Christmas, no matter the cost.
But first, I need to teach Holly that I can’t do that if she keeps trying to run from me…
